To begin this semi-monthly bulletin of announcements from the Libertarian
Alliance, I will apologise to all those people who have sent me e-mails and
not had a reply. My ISP has recently installed a really ferocious spam filter,
which seems to treat most of my friends and contacts as spam merchants. I
cannot think why!
I am trying to deactivate this at the moment. If you want to resend later in
the week, I hope to receive your messages.

I have just returned from the third conference of the Property and Freedom
Society in Bodrum, Turkey:
http://www.propertyandfreedom.org/
This was an outstanding conference in every way, with speeches by John
Lott, Justin Raimondo, Peter Brimelow, Tom DiLorenzo, Hans-Hermann Hoppe, Paul
Gottfried, and Anthony Daniels (who writes for the English newspapers under
the name Theodore Dalrymple) among many others.
I was there with Mrs Gabb and our little Baby Bear, who was generally on her
best behaviour. Indeed, she loved Turkey, and even put up with being dragged
round the ruins of Hierapolis and the lime deposits of Pamukkale. That surely
means she will be able to cope with the long drive to Slovakia this summer.
I will publish a full report of the conference in the next few days. In the
meantime, here is a link to the full video record that I took of the
conference:
http://www.libertarian.co.uk/conferences/pfsconf08.htm
The videos have been savagely downsampled to comply with the requirements
of Google Video. But original quality copies are available on request.
Fans of Ron Paul may be interested in the long session on his significance for
the libertarian movement in both America and Europe. This can be found by
following the link above.
Here is the text of the speech by Hans-Hermann Hoppe, which also contains a
video link:

My own speech will be published by the Libertarian Alliance in due course. The
video is already available along with all the others.
By the way, if anyone fancies a break this year in Bodrum, I cannot too highly
recommend the Hotel Karia Princess:
http://www.kariaprincess.com/eg/welcome/welcome.htm
It has everything a discriminating traveller could ever want. For the next few
months, Bodrum will be filled with several million tourists, all getting
beastly drunk in temperatures of 100 in the shade. However, the town is in
bourgeois perfection in April and May and from late September to the end of
October. It's by then a fine place to share with only 30,000 Turks. It is the
birthplace of Herodotus. There is a most interesting Crusader's castle there -
built mostly from stones cannibalised from the Mausoleum. Ephesus is just up
the coast, and there are lesser ruins every few miles for those with the
patience to look them out:

Here are details of the Libertarian Alliance Conference in London this coming
25th-26th October. The price after the end of June will be £99. If you book
between now and then, you can buy places at the old price of £85.
http://www.libertarian.co.uk/conferences/conf08brochure.htm
This will be another really good conference. One of the main speakers will be
Hans-Hermann Hoppe, making his first visit to London in many years - though
not, I hope, his last. There will be other speakers, discussing, among much
else, life extension and the Eleven Year Tyranny of New Labour.

Here are details for the conference of the Libertarian International, our
sister organisation:

This will be held in Warsaw this coming 28th-29th June. Places are still
available. Contact Christian Michel for further details: chr.michel@gmail.com
